Police statement regarding the encounter of Anantnag

Anantnag, March 12: Pursuing credible leads of presence of millitants SFs started search in the Hakoora area of Anantnag district .
While the search was going on the hiding millitants fired upon the search party .The fire was retaliated by the security forces ensuing an encounter.
In the said encounter ,3 millitants were killed which include Eesa Fazli of Srinagar, Syed Owais of kokernag
and a third millitant whose Identity is being ascertained.
In the process arms and ammunition which include AK 47 rifles ,pistols ,hand grenades etc were recovered from the encounter site.Further in the said incident no collateral damage has taken place.
It is pertinent to mention that among the killed militants ,one was involved in a recent attack on a police guard post at Soura in which one police constable was killed.
In this connection a case has been registered and investigation has been started under the relevant provisions of the law by the Police

Srinagar: Several locals including women were allegedly beaten by government forces soon after vehicle of 55 Rashtriya rifles was targeted on Watchi Darbagh road on Friday.

Srinagar: Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah on Friday said that putting of Army and Airforce on high alert is about something very different and not about article 35A or delimitation.
Mr. Abdullah wrote on his Twitter handle, “What “on going situation” in Kashmir would require the army AND the Air Force to be put on alert? This isn’t about 35A or delimitation. This sort of alert, if actually issued, would be about something very different.”
