An official said that five militants were trapped by the forces in Chowgam area of Kulgam district late last night. “3 reported to have been neutralised. Train services between Baramulla -Qazigund suspended. Police and Security Forces on job,” police said on Twitter.

Three militants were killed in an ongoing gunfight with the government forces in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday, police said.
An official said that five militants were trapped by the forces in Chowgam area of Kulgam district late last night. “3 reported to have been neutralised. Train services between Baramulla -Qazigund suspended. Police and Security Forces on job,” police said on Twitter.

Reports said a joint team of the army and SOG launched a cordon-and-search operation at Chowgam following specific inputs about the presence of some militants.
As such the joint team of forces intensified the searches and fired some warning shots towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire triggering off a gunfight.
