Geelani said, “For the past 71 years we have lived a life of uncertainty, chaos and harassment, have only shouldered the coffins of our dear ones, seen only death and destruction around. This gloomy situation has forced our high qualified scholars and intellectuals to take the extreme step. They prefer to be a rebel than to live a life of slavery.”
He said, “Pro-freedom people will always miss the sharp, focused and fertile brains like that of Manan and these shining diamonds are unparalleled assets of any nation particularly oppressed and suppressed like us. We are unfortunate that we lose them so early as their un-dented commitment and visionary intellect would help to smoothen our struggle for our rights.”
“Arresting, those who had came to condole his death is nothing but vengeance and can only be done by a biased and arrogant power, no matter how big it is,” Geelani said.

“On daily basis we are hearing from representative’s of New Delhi that they want to kill militancy, not the militants but on daily basis we witness ruthless genocide of our youth by the forces,” he said.
“We appeal to the people to stay away from Municipality and Panchayat election and respect the sacrifices of our youth,” he said.
