Militant critically injured in Pulwama gunfight hospitalised

A police officer identified the militant as Showkat Ahmad Dar son of Nazir Ahmad Dar of Muran, Pulwama who was injured in the gunfight at Babagund where his associate Shabir Ahmad Dar alias Maali was killed.
Police on Saturday said that one Hizb militant who was injured in Babagund village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district has been admitted at SMHS hospital where he is presently being operated upon by the doctors.

Militant killed in Pulwama gunfight, another injured

A militant was killed and another injured during a gunfight with the government forces in south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Saturday, police said. A police official said that army men of 55 RR, CRPF personnel and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police laid a siege around a cluster of houses in Babgund area of Pulwama town and started door to door search operations around 2 am Militants hiding in one of the residential houses fired upon the forces, triggering a gunfight, said the official, adding that one militant was killed during the exchange of fire.  THe identified the slain militant as Shabir Ahmad Dar, a resident of Samboora. Another militant, identified as Showkat Ahmad and belonging to Muran village of Pulwama, was critically injured in the gunbattle.  Police said Ahmad managed to escape the security cordon and was later admitted by unknown persons in Srinagar's S.M.H.S hospital. SPO shot dead by unknown gunmen in warpora Sopore

Sopore,October 12 : A Special Police Officer (SPO) was  shot dead by unknown gunmen in north Kashmir’s warpora  village of Sopore late this evening.

Mother of 3 kids allegedly burnt alive by in-laws in Bandipora

 Rehana Gulzar, 35, and a mother of three kids was allegedly ‘burnt alive’ by her in-laws here in Ahm-e-Sharief area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
According to family members, Rehana a FMPH worker in health department was married in the year 2o09, to Lateef Ahmad Baba of Ahm-e-Sharief, but never lived peacefully due to constant tussle with her in-laws.
“My daughter put up with harsh sufferings from last nine years but never complained, she was now happy and preparing for construction of her new house” said Gulzar Ahmed father of deceased.
“She had no reason to commit suicide now, she is a victim, and police should thoroughly probe the incident to deliver justice,” he said.
Soon after the incident, happened on Saturday, October 6, Rehana was rushed to the district hospital Bandipora for treatment where from she was referred to Srinagar hospital for further treatment. Rehana succumbed to her injuiries on Sunday.
