Kashmir 24X7 Srinagar, Nov 16 (: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani on Friday wholeheartedly thanked all those people who visited his ancestral village Duro to pay homage to late Gh. Hassan Makhdoomi.
In a statement issued to KNS, Geelani said despite heavy showers and cold chilly weather thousands of people mostly from adjoining areas participated in the last rites of the deceased.
Geelani thanked the leaders of the organizations especially Jamaat-e-Islami, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Awami Action Committee, Anjuman-e-Share Shian, Muslim League, People’s League, Bar Association, Anjuman Moien-ul-Islam Sopore, Muslim Conference, Civil Society, all constituent parties of Hurriyat Conference and other political, religious, social and other organizations who traveled from far flung areas to condole and console the bereaved family.

Srinagar, Nov 16 : Addressing the Friday gathering at historic Jamia Masjid, Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said resistance leadership and the people of Kashmir have time and again rejected every election thrust on them with a view to dilute the disputed nature of Kashmir and strengthen and legitimize Indian rule in J&K.

SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 15: According to the Power Controller Kashmir, 11KV power line of feeder number 3 and 4 of Rangreth Receiving Station will be shut down from 1.30 am to 4.30 pm and 09.30 pm to 1.30 respectively on 17 November 2018 to carry out pruning. Meanwhile, 33KV Baramulla IstKanilbagh , Baramulla IIndSheeri-Drangbal and MES power Line will be shut down from 09.00 am to 6 pm on 16 November 2018 to carry out pruning.

Weather Likely To Improve In J&K

After fresh snowfall in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir in the last 24 hours, the Met office on Thursday forecast improvement in the weather conditions.

_“Weather is likely to improve in Jammu and Kashmir from today. We are expecting dry weather till November 21,” a Met official said.

There has been fresh snowfall in Sonamarg, Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Peer Ki Gali, Drass, Gurez and other mountainous areas of the state while light rains lashed the plains.

Kargil continued to be the coldest in the state as the minimum temperature dropped to a minus 6.8 degrees Celsius. Leh town recorded a minus 2.8 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

The night’s lowest temperatures were 3.3 in Srinagar, minus 3.0 in Pahalgam and minus 4.0 in Gulmarg.

In the Jammu division, Jammu city recorded 9.5 degrees Celsius, Katra 8.8, Batote 3.8, Bannihal 1.8 and Bhaderwah 3.4 as the minimum temperatures.

Traffic has been suspended on the Srinagar-Leh Highway and the Mughal Road due to snowfall.(IANS)

Geelani voices concern over plight of prisoners Says, “International jail manual violated in and outside JK”

Kashmir 24X7 : Srinagar,Nov 15(: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani has expressed his serious concern about the pathetic condition our prisoners are made to face in and outside the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that despite being political prisoners they are denied every right guaranteed in the national or international jail manual. Revengeful attitude of the rulers in Delhi has grossed every limit of heartlessness and in sensitivity. They willfully prolong their stay in jails through their judicial victimization.
Slow and humiliating judicial process has ruined the life of so many young innocents. He cited examples of Tariq Ahmad Dar, Mohammad Rafiq Owasi, Iqbal Jan, Samiullah Sheikh and others who were declared innocent after a long period of more than a decade.

Kashmir  24X7:Srinagar, Nov 14 : The higher reaches of the Valley including the world famous ski-resort, Gulmarg Wednesday received fresh snowfall while as the rains lashed plains since this morning, brining the temperature further down in Kashmir.
Earlier, a local Meteorological department had predicted rain or snowfall in between Nov 13 and 14 across Kashmir.
The higher reaches of the Valley including the world famous ski-resort, Gulmarg received a fresh snowfall in the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday, bringing cheers among the tourists.
However, the rains lashed plains since the wee hours of this morning, thus bringing the temperature further down here.

JRL calls for protest shutdown on Nov 17, boycott to Panchayat polling KASHMIR 24X7 :Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik have said that people will once again show their complete rejection and disassociation from the repeated election dramas being enacted by the Indian state this time in the name of Panchayat elections. 
In a statement issued to KNS, JRL said that a complete protest shutdown across Kashmir will be observed on November 17 the day the Panchayat election drama commences and send the message to the rulers that they have nothing to do with a sham process being foisted on them to undermine Kashmir’s disputed status and the need to resolve it.

Masarat Alam Shifted To Hira Nagar Jail After 37th PSA: League

   The incarcerated chairman of Muslim League Jammu Kashmir Masarat Alam Bhat was on Wednesday shifted to Hira Nagar jail Jammu after authorities booked him under the fresh Public Safety Act (PSA). The fresh orders, incidentally 37th in the series, were passed Wednesday morning by the Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, a spokesperson of the League Sajad Ayoubi said. He said Alam was brought to JIC Jammu a few days ago, and in the meantime a fresh PSA – which is 37th in a row – was slapped on him. After being slapped with 37th PSA, which is a world record, Masarat Alam was shifted to Hira Nagar Jail in Jammu, Ayoubi said.

Rain, snow to continue in Jammu and Kashmir till Thursday: Weatherman

Fresh snow and rain occurred in the mountains of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, as the Met forecast scattered rain and snow to continue till Thursday. There would be some improvement in the weather after Thursday, the weather official said, adding that the state had so far received 83.5 mm rainfall between October 1 and November 7, as against the normal 47.6 mm. Kargil in Ladakh region was the coldest town at minus 7 degrees Celsius, while Leh recorded minus 1.4. The minimum temperature in Srinagar was 5.2, in Pahalgam 1.3 and minus 3 in Gulmarg. Jammu city recorded 15.2 degrees Celsius while Katra was at 11.7, Batote 7.4, Banihal 0.5 and Bhaderwah 4.2.
