Top Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Naveed Jatt  among two militants killed in Budgam gunfight


Top Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Naveed Jatt is believed to be among the two militants killed in a gunfight with the government forces in Chattergam area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday.According to ANI news agency, Jatt whom police had blamed for the assassination of senior journalist Shujaat Bukhari was among the slain militants.


The gunfight had erupted in Kuthipora area of Chattergam soon after the government forces launched a search operation in the area.

A top police official told Greater Kashmir that they had inputs about the presence of Jatt in the area. “However, I can’t confirm if he (Jatt) was among the slain,” he said.

Resistance leadership call for shutdown in poll bound areas on Tuesday

The Joint Resistance Leadership comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik have asked people to observe a complete protest shutdown in the areas going for polls on November 27 in the fourth phase of Panchayat elections.
